What is the Grand Traverse Festival of Books?
The Grand Traverse Festival of Books is the first used & rare books festival in the Grand Traverse area, sponsored by Bookbrokers & Kramer's Cafe.
The Grand Traverse Festival of Books (aka: the GT Bookfest) is a goodwill effort to help generate a deeper love and appreciation of books in the Grand Traverse community.
This event is completely indoors in the Grand Traverse Mall, 3200 S Airport Rd.
Vendors keep 100% of their proceeds! We'd like to thank the Detroit Festival of Books and the Detroit Book Club for their assistance in making this a great event!

What is the cost of admission?
Admission is FREE and open to the general public!
Who can be a vendor?
People from the general community - collectors, dealers, aficionados and authors who want to sell BOOKS (ie: used, rare, antiquarian, etc.), vinyl LP records, vintage board games, crafts, art, media, collectibles and unusual items and non-corporate local companies that apply to "bookish" theme are invited to participate.
Also, remember, vendors you keep 100% of your PROCEEDS! Table price is $50 for all vendors - authors (with published print books to sell & sign) are free! And yes, there are outlets - bring your own cords, as well as table cloths, bookcases/displays, chairs, etc.
Who is organizing it?
Dan "DOC" McDougall is the Creator of and Event Chairman for this event. DOC and his business partner, Ian Kramer, are in charge of a team of people who help make this event possible.
Bookbrokers & Kramer's Cafe underwrites and operates this event with generous assistance of the Grand Traverse Mall, various sponsors, and several other community leaders.
How about parking?
The parking lots at the Grand Traverse Mall are free, please park in appropriate spots. Vendors will parking near loading area at Corridor #6 just off JC Penney area.
Are there bathrooms?
Yes! There are men’s and women’s bathrooms throughout the Grand Traverse Mall.
What is the Grand Traverse Mall?
Grand Traverse Mall is an enclosed shopping mall serving Traverse City, Michigan, located in Garfield Township. Opened in 1992, the mall features four anchor stores: JCPenney, Target, TJ Maxx, Dunham's Sports, and Macy's, as well as the Host's store, Bookbrokers & Kramer's Cafe.
Will there be music?
Music plays through the mall sound system.
Will there be beer?
Yes! Beer is available nearby for a charge to 21 and up @ Buffalo Wild Wings, Chili's, and Opa, not in Mall area.
Will there be food?
Yes, besides Bookbrokers & Kramer's Cafe, there is Jonathan B Pub, Mrs Field's, Auntie Anne's, and a wide assortment of choices in the GT Mall Food Court, and nearby.
Is there Wi-Fi available at GT Mall?
Yes, and it's free!
Is there an ATM machine at Grand Traverse Mall?
Yes! On the mall edge of the food court, there is an ATM.
If you are not an ATM member, there is a $2.00 non-member fee per transaction.
What is the cost to be a Vendor?
The cost to rent a 6-foot table is only $50.00 per table. 2 tables are $75.00. 3 tables are $100. 4 tables are $125.
VERY CHEAP compared to other events. You must supply your own chairs.
